Midterm Madness roles into AP Government and Politics with a double tournament this year in January and May. This year, you will decide the participants - historical political figures (January) and major legislation in American History (May).
The Assignment
Below is a copy of the assignment handout from class along with the Excel document featuring the instructions, example and template for the assignment. If you have any questions, please let me know by emailing me. I think it is pretty self explanatory but here is a quick overview of what you need to put in the magazine cover...
At the very top (in the red border), type your name where it says "your name here"
In the top three boxes I would like three "AP Go-Po" notable facts (i.e. - things that could appear on the AP Exam and not things that could appear on a trivial pursuit card)
Picture, photograph, or political cartoon of the figure in question (don't hide the head behind the "TIME" logo)
The name of the figure your assignment is on
10 word "bullet" biography - short and sweet definition about your figure
Plus: A shout out to the state that they were from / represented (like "Delaware boy does good")
Please print the copy out and do not email it to me...it will crash my email system and you will not receive credit. Please note, that the margins for printing should be set at a half-inch on all sides (in case your computer re-formats the document).
Remember that if any of your group's figures wins the competition everyone in the group will receive five extra credit points. In addition, if you are the one presenting that figure who happens to win, you personally will receive an additional five extra credit points. Each one of these figures will compete against figures from the other groups starting on Monday, January 5th.
It's baaaaaack.
